Introduction
Younus College of Engineering is established in 2002 at Kollam City of Kerala State. Kerala is not to be a State of high tech education and 100% literacy. 30% of the manpower of the Kerala is working abroad as technical hands or management experts and supervisors. All big Companies in the world are coming to Kerala for recruitment of personal as the work force for their industrial activities and for other service sectors. Now in Kerala there are 85 Engineering colleges and about 100 nos. of management institutions offering M.B.A Degree and PGDM Diploma. India is growing with a steady growth rate of 89% every year. So the recruitment of management experts are very high in India and almost all employers and Companies are regularly recruiting scholars passing out institutions offering M.B.A degree in Kerala. So the demands of management graduates are very high in Kerala and we can start more than 50 nos. of Colleges offering M.B.A degree. Younus College of Engineering has 6 years experience in conducting technical courses and 3rd year pass out of B. Tech students qualified for applying an additional course of M.B.A (Master of Business Administration) for the year 2008 - 2010.

 

Technical Education & Industry Scenario :

In the 11th Plan period (2007-2012) country needs lakhs of B. Tech degree holders, M. Tech degree holders and M.B.A degree holders. In Kerala there are only 85 nos. of Engineering Colleges and about 100 nos. of institutions offering M.B.A courses in the ambering students. India is growing with a growth rate of 8 to 9 % and we have targeted a growth rate of 12% in the 11th plan. So we need more institutions offering M.B.A degree with international standards and quality. In Kerala State also more ventures are coming and the need for M.B.A graduates are ever increasing.

 

Activities of the Promoting Body: -

The promoting body Fathima Memorial Educational Trust is successfully conducted 2 B.Ed colleges, 2 T.T.Cs and one Higher Secondary School.One BEd college at Thalachira is awaiting approval from NCTE.

Mission

By registering the Charitable Trust the promoter's body has started more educational institutions including 2 B.Ed Colleges, 2 T T.C and a Higher Secondary School and another BEd college awaiting approval from NCET.

 

Vision

Vision of the promoting body is to propagate education especially in the rural mass by giving priority to technical and management education.

Objectives of the Institution:

Objectives of the Institution are to start Degree Courses and Post Graduate courses in Engineering and PG Courses in Management. In the 11th Plan Country want more Engineering Graduates and Management Graduates. In State of Kerala there are 90 nos. of Engineering Colleges and 50 Nos. of management institutions. In 90 Engineering Colleges of total strength of intake per year are about 25,000 and management institutions offering 3000 nos. of seats.

 

Academic Values

The College is highlighting very bright academic value for teaching and other academic staffs. For the proposed course of MBA we have recruited one Professor, 2 Asst. Professors, 4 Senior Lectures, 3 Lectures and other supporting staffs.
